Business Link Yorkshire

Need business advice?

Business Link Yorkshire – a powerhouse of business knowledge on your doorstep

Business Link Yorkshire is pleased to be supporting the Kirklees Business Conference and hope you will be visiting our stand.

Like many businesses across the country you may be working in increasingly competitive environments and face a wide range of opportunities and challenges on a daily basis. The past year has been extremely difficult for a great number of businesses, in some sectors more than others, but innovative and inspiring businesses face up to those challenges and maximise the opportunities. They consider situations from alternative and innovative perspectives to improve business performance.

We work with businesses to help them do just that. Whatever your venture, Business Link Yorkshire can help discover your potential for growth and increased competitiveness in a number of areas, such as innovation and product development, e-business and effective use of technology, development of (international) markets and access to finance and investment-readiness.

Funded through Yorkshire Forward, our services are impartial, free and have no vested interests. Our experienced business advisers help businesses assess and reduce their risks, avoid pitfalls and learn from the mistakes and successes of others.

We also run free courses and workshops throughout Yorkshire and Humber for established businesses, social enterprises, for those who have recently started up their own business or for budding entrepreneurs. You can access the full timetable at: www.businesslinkyorkshire.co.uk/events. Kirklees Council

Kirklees Council is committed to supporting the growth and expansions of local businesses and ensuring that they are sustainable in today’s competitive economy. Our business team respond to the needs of employers with one-to-one support and local initiatives, as well as running a number of events across the year. Over the course of the past year, more than £730,000 of business rate relief was given to local manufacturers who were worst hit by the recession. We also partner with other organisations like the Chamber of Commerce and Business Link, to deliver a comprehensive support and brokerage service for companies of all sizes including smaller companies.

As part of the council’s ambition to combat climate change, free environmental support is available to all Kirklees businesses through the Green Business Network. Thanks to this support, local companies are already reducing their costs as well as their carbon footprint.

And, on a larger scale, we work hard to secure private and public sector investment into the District in order to boost the local economy, aid regeneration and provide more opportunities for local people.
